The 5 Sences

This was actually written the day of the activity. Laziness with uploading pics kept me from posting!
Event happened 6/2/2011
We had a great time today playing with our noses, hands, tongues, eyes and ears. We first started out with touch. We compared the sandpaper, stuffed animal, tape and discarded packing foam. It was interesting to see which they liked to touch.

Next we did hearing( no pics, not that you could hear the pictures anyway! haha) I had Andrew look up some sound clips on U tube to see if we could guess them. Some of them were easy. Chicken, cat and so on but others were impossible. A Robot, really?!?

After I did a quick smell activity. I didn't really having anything for this at my house. Andrew had just taken out the garbage so no dirty diapers. So I brought Vinegar for the little ones to smell and one of my perfume-y type sprays. We started with the vinegar and Austin didn't like that smell at all! Then I sprayed the other and had them take a big whiff. Daimion said it smelled like "bath" I agreed with him.

Sight. I made binoculars out of toilet rolls and gave one to each kid. I put up pictures and acked them what they saw. Animals, colors and all sorts of stuff like that. Then we put them up to the couch that is in front of the window and asked them what they saw from there. It became an I spy kind of game to see which could find it first. This was the most successful of the day. :)

Taste was our last thing. We had all types of things to try out. We had cinnamon, honey, sugar, salt, lemons, cracker, apples, sour sugar, and marshmallows. The kids loved trying everything. Sadly, we missed all the faces! We just missed it every time. Either late of early to capture the moment but all well!

The Finally to our day was the popcorn! We tied it all together by the sound of the popcorn. Watching it pop and smelling it and touching it and of course eating it! It was GREAT!

Look at him run!

Oh and for all those wondering about Daimion's face. He burned it by grabbing Ramen out of the Microwave before his parents could reach him. Luckily it didn't get in his eyes! Poor guy. Thank Goodness it wasn't worse!!!

Couponing

I have been trying to get the hang of couponing these last few months. I was starting to think that I wouldn't ever make it work enough to keep me doing it. Today I had an awesome time shopping. Now first off before I tell you what I did, I need to let you know that I HATE grocery shopping more than anything else. I would only go when we were completely out of milk, and bread.
I went to Smith's to day and got all of this:

All that is in the pic is 4 gallons of milk, 10 boxes of cereal, 6 packages of various sizes of Ziplock , gain detergent, 3 ivory body wash, 2 soap cars, 1 Irish spring body wash, 8 apples, 3 avocado, 1 cantaloupe, 1 honey dew, 1 17 1/2 lb watermelon, 3 toothpastes, 5 toothbrushes, 1pkg  hot dog buns and 1 pkg hamburger buns all for 55 dollars.
Now this wasn't my favorite Couponing outing. Before I went to Smith I went to Kmart. Right now Kmart is having their double coupon event and I am in LOVE with it. Here is what I got there:
That's 10 Boxes of Hamburger Helper and 10 boxes of Suddenly Salad and 5 Soft soaps. All for the grand total of 7.42! That's about 30 cents a piece!!! I know that's not like the extreme couponing people on TV but they do illegal things and I didn't! It's a beautiful thing! So get over to kmart with your coupons and get some great deals of your own. I can't take credit of figuring out all the deals though. I have a HUGE shout out to Savvy Shopper who does all the work for me and provides the info for free! Thanks for making me a crazy couponing lady!

The last 30 before 30 goal!

I thought long and hard what do have as the last, #30 thing to be and it has been decided. I thought of everything and considered the suggestions given, even the running one! Wow, I must really love comments :)
Now originally i thought of increasing my vocab, and told some of you that is what it was. That is no longer the case and anyhow, how would I be able to accomplish that goal? It's never ending!
Drum roll please..............

I decided that I would visit every temple in Utah before I turn 30, and not just visit but do some work at each one as well. This could be a very hard goal seeing how we keep getting new ones and right now my number is at 2. The Logan and St. George temples. I think that this will better myself and my husband because let's face it he will accomplish this goal right along side of me! So there you go all 30. If you need a refresher to the rest of the list click here.
