The Carport

I've been meaning to write about this for a LONG time. Well With the purchase of our home; that gave us a list of 14 things that we had to get done for our loan. Painting the carport was one of them. Now the reason why I'm sharing this task and not any of the other ones is that I did this all by myself. except for some help from my mom a few days and a night of help from Andrew on the priming. Though I did have a little bit of help I still think of it as my "baby". That just happen to turn out awesome! Here are some BEFORE pics:

Can't help but love the paint falling off the board. What do they mean it needs painting? :)

How cut is Austin? He went and sat on the other side to be just like Daddy. Though I think it's funny that daddy was sitting on the wrong side of the ladder... oh and yes that is a dishwasher in the carport. it currently is sitting out on the driveway getting snowed on and stuff. If you want to take it away for us we would be happy to let you! :)

Now for the AFTER pic which i just took today. I had seriously finished painting this on the last day we could for the dead line. It had to be at least 50 degrees for the paint we got. I finished painting on the last day in 2010 that it was 50 degrees. Man that was close!

Wow how beautiful, how majestic! ha j/k But look no more hanging around paint! Now with any project that you end up loving a lot that means that something bad happened right? well in this case something unfortunate happened.....

I had decided to paint the ceiling on the front porch to get rid of all that ugly gray paint and this happens with only 2 minutes of painting left...

AHHHHHH!!!!! This is my front porch!!! This is what everyone sees first thing when coming into our home! It was all over our beautiful purple brink that I love so much. I was so mad I couldn't even look at it for sometime so I called Andrew and cried. Cried with frustration. It only happen because I had so little to do I switched to just using the can instead of pouring out a little more. Andrew came home and helped me clean up. We use pressured water from a hose and a wire brush and this is what it looks like today.
Can you believe that is the same spot? There are still spot of paint but not nearly as much damage as I originally thought! Thank goodness!!!
