30 before 30

I saw this on a few blogs and thought is was a great idea. Sadly i will be turning 30 within 5 years, and as Andrew so nicely pointed out, we will still be in Smithfield when I do and have a 6 year old! Needless to say I was feeling old about that! So I am working on compiling a list of 30 things I would like to get done before I turn the BIG 30. So here is the list:
1:  Learn to play 3 songs on the piano.
2: Read all Jensen outlet books
3: Get back to pre-baby weight, then -10 pounds
4: Go to Washington D.C.
5: Paint front room and bedroom
6: Stop late night sweets. Nothing after 9
7: Organize pictures
8: Get Andrew back to the D.R.
9: Re learn French and better than before
10: Make decorations for all Holidays
11: Learn to dance with Husband
12: Do my Continuing Education points for AAMA
13: Go water skiing
14: Catch a fish
15: Finish Prereq courses for Nursing
16: Make a full outfit for myself, by myself.
17: Finish a crossword puzzle
18: Go rock climbing
19: Participate in a musical/play
20: Jump into a lake by way of rope
21: Know my City of Smithfield
22: Go to stand up comedy night
23: Finish Wedding scrapbook
24: Visit a haunted house
25: Learn to drive stick
26: Experience a meteor shower
27: Figure out how to put on make up that looks good
28: Build a sand structure or snow structure  (and it actually looks like what it should)
29: Finish my 18,000 piece puzzle.
30:
I need help figuring out my last one. It needs to be something that doesn't cost a lot. I mean come on we are in Grad school here, and I would like it to be something that would be interesting and fun to do so sorry no sky driving too expensive! Any suggestions would help me a lot on my quest!

Baby Blessing and Friends

We had a great excuse to leave cache valley. One of our great friends the Gibby's just had a baby girl and we got to travel to Spanish Fork to see them and their cute little girl! Now since their church started at 9 and having to drive about 2 and a half hours we start brain storming who we could go to stay the night. Andrew thought of our friends, Aja and Mario. Sadly Mario's family was going to be there that night but we were welcomed to come and see them in the afternoon. We took up that offer quickly!
While we were waiting for them to arrive we saw this: (WARNING: if you have a weak stomach do not look at the next 2 pics!)

The best part of finding and watching this hawk was the fact he was stuck to his prey and tried to fly away. Andrew and I both started laughing. It reminded me of the old dragging toilet paper scenario from the bathroom, which I've done by the way..)

When Mario and Aja returned home we were able to see their home and catch up on many things that we have missed over the last 2 years like children. Both of us have had a child since last seen! we also had pizza and played some Wacky 6 for old times sake. As we were playing Mario's family made it. We were invited to stay and have cake and ice cream with them. It was his brother's b-day. Now it just wasn't any cake it was a tres leche cake that Aja made herself and it was delicious!! I did feel like we didn't belong there until we had some of that cake. I didn't care if they were trying to kick us out of the door! I was there to enjoy that goodness :)
After spending time there we headed to Andrew's Uncle's home to stay the night. They were nice enough to deal with us!
The next morning we woke up and quickly got ready. We were able to talk a little with Andrew's Aunt and uncle then out we went to make it to the baby blessing. We actually got there early and had good seats, and could almost hear every word (It seemed quiet at times)
After we had food at a nearby school which was awesome and a different location for this! Gibby's sister is a teacher there so it made it easy to get it and have all the space needed for everyone to be comfortable. We once again felt misplaced since Brian and LaShelle weren't there yet and all the other family members were eyeing us knowing we weren't family. That immediately melted away as they arrived and I was able to hold little Evey first. Everyone else wanted to eat their food. My gain, their loss! Sadly I didn't take ANY pictures of her! I can't believe it! I seem to write this a lot though...I need to be better! I did get pics of the boys having fun with daddy...
Yes I let them play with the cones but it was so cute and Austin figured it out all by himself. It was awesome to watch.
After all their family left we played Dominion and then headed back to Aja and Mario's home. They wanted to try out Dominion as well. Aja won I couldn't believe it it should have been me! Haha When we left we rounded the block and had to leave a present for them. It was the perfect time of year to remind them of this:
We had fun with that string of balloons. We went back and forth a few times with our pranks. The top on was ours and the bottom one was Aja and Mario's. The sign says Congratulations It's a Girl! At the time Andrew and I didn't want anything to do with kids so it was the perfect joke. We used that bib with the ballet shoes on it for both of our boys! :) This is what we left as a reminder sorry the pic is really dark! And we were afraid they would come down the hallway any minute!
Not very extravagant but we were proud of ourselves for tying it on their front door. They had their main door open so it would have been easy to be caught! It was a great weekend of rushing around and having so much fun seeing friends we don't get to see all the time. And not to mention we were WAY overdue to leave Cache Valley. Thanks for the fun weekend!

Lee Family "Christmas" Party

This year's Lee Family Christmas Party didn't happen before Christmas in fact it didn't even happen in the Month of December. We had it on New Year's instead which was just fine and actually easier on everyone I think. All the racing around for Christmas everything was over so it was more relaxed and I enjoyed it more. We didn't get there in time for the beginning because of sick sleeping children. Remember the 3 weeks of Austin being sick? Well this party was at the latter end of the illness. We made it just after eating and just before the games. So in my opinion right at the best time. No waiting in line for food and we were so late we missed a lot of the small talk. For those that do not know I HATE small talk. I feel like at functions like this and others I am just saying the same thing over and over again. Andrew's schooling, kids ages, and no I have not gone back to work. Just over and over again to the same people it seems over and over again. It's not that I don't enjoy talking about our family it just that some that ask don't care about the answer and THAT'S what I hate about small talk. So just know if you ask you need to care.

We usually have Santa visit us but this year it was past the season so who did we have come to visit?

Frosty the Snowman of course! here is everyone following him to his chair to hand out the presents. Grandma Lee makes and buys all her gifts. She use to make every single one of them but now because of age she has had to make it easier on her. It's a lot of gifts anyhow all grand-kids, great grand-kids and spouses get a gift and she had 9 kids. I might be under, that's what I count out right now....needless to say this is a huge family outing.
Here is all of us getting our gifts of love:

I'm a dork sometime aren't I? I was in a really funny mood that day. Look at what I did to Gavin:
I made him a his own hair. Just until his own grows in anyways...haha.
Here is the fam playing a game...Something about crossing the river..... It was like mother may I and running put together. The person in the middle call out who can run across (everyone with blue one) then everyone one runs whoever gets touched by the people in the middle becomes part of the middle. It seemed like fun but I was being one of those old people and sat on the side lines.

And now pics of the kids

see how he likes to suck on his Binky sometimes? I think it's hilarious!
Austin opening his gift.

Right after the Lee party we went over to Great grandma and grandpa Pound for their New years party. We played games and had lots of fun! Oh and great food as well. We hadn't planned on staying long because of sick kids but they were doing so well, we stayed and were so happy we did!
 Austin with Great Grandma Pound
Cheesy Gavin with Cousin Nathan Wood. He'll be leaving for his mission soon! It was a full day of fun and we saw a LOT of family but all in all a great day and the kids did so much better than we thought with Austin how he was feeling. Thank goodness!!
