December

After a year of not posting anything to this blog I thought is would be high time for me to catch things up month by month! Hopefully, as next year comes I will be up to date!

First off was Austin’s birthday. We went to the Jumpzone ,Which is was way fun. I wasn’t able to jump since I was WAY to pregnant to attempt. So I took pics and video to remember the occasion. The kids didn’t understand what the jump zone was before we went and complained and whined about not wanting to go in. We still made them go since we KNEW they would love it. I wish I had captured the first moment they realized what this activity was all about. Basically Andrew held the hands of both the kids and walked them onto the black stuff. (They were still whining at this point.) At the first bounce there was instant smiles and laughing. They had so much fun with their daddy and jumping. :)

We also had Grandparents come over to give Austin his presents. Nothing better than a gift and cookies.

How many people does it take to put together a Hotwheels Track? I count 6…

Gavin is my little builder. Austin makes some things as well but Gavin’s Airplanes are awesome! His nursery teacher comment on his building skills all the time. He was pretty proud of this one.

Austin’s first Nativity scene with the Primary. Yep cried through the whole thing. We had to get off the stage. I never thought I would have the crying kid in Primary. But alas, I do. Luckily, we are just fine with primary now and walk there by themselves now!

November

Mitchell, Andrew’s little brother, got his Eagle at the beginning of the month. Andrew was so proud! He was the Master of Ceremonies. He did a pretty good job of it. :)  He is so good at talking on his feet even on no sleep!

P1000761

The one thing Andrew said in his commentary was so true. Andrew got his Eagle at 15 when he realized his parents were being serious about him not driving until he obtained his eagle. He quickly got it done, but not for the right reasons. Mitchell got his at 14. It is something he enjoys doing. He loves the adventures and learning that is involved with scouts. He will be in the scouts program in the future for sure.P1000766

The eagle nest. All those that have received their eagle. And a few future eagles in daddy’s arms.   P1000769

This part was very neat. The flag was flown over the capital building, I believe, in honor of Mitchell getting his eagle. These men were asked to officially fold the flag the correct way. They had a story/poem they read that told what every fold and tuck represented. It covered every man, women and child in this great nation. It filled me with pride to hear them read it.P1000776

Andrew couldn’t help himself…. P1000779

Thanksgiving this year was at my grandma James’ home since my mom’s house still doesn’t have a kitchen it it. They have been building an addition onto their house and it is almost complete now. Just the finishing touches. I didn’t take a single picture. We did the usual stuff eat turkey, play games and go through the black Friday ads 10 times. Our whole family decided to boycott the thanksgiving “black Friday” sales. We got up for the 5 am sales and got everything we needed and wanted. I think its because we waited and kept Thanksgiving a  with family holiday. I hope all of you did too!

At the end of the moth I had an activity days where each girl was to make a gingerbread house. I had only 1 girl show up so that means we had 3 gingerbread house kits unclaimed. My kids were all about picking up the slack to decorated a house themselves. These kits were awesome. They have some fondant that you roll out and cut into different pieces. Boys LOVED that part. It was such a great family activity I’m kind of happy that all my girls didn’t show up…

A few days later we made more houses. Here are the ones Andrew and I made. We were going to have a competition on who did a cooler house but then Andrew decided to be extra creative. I thought it unfair that I already had the main shape of mine put together when he let me know what he was thinking. So I just made mine cute.

I couldn’t compete with a nativity gingerbread house. That’s an automatic win in my books EVEN enough though mine is so dang cute….
